Clermont State High School

TerraCom, along with our mining contractor Link Mining Services (LMS), collaborated to provide funding for a selection of students (Year 10, 11 and 12) from the Clermont State High School (CSHS) to assist them to travel to Brisbane in September to explore tertiary and employment opportunities after secondary school.

Due to our remote location, a majority of the senior students (past and present) have not had the advantage of exploring a southern campus option. This was seen as an opportunity to support our local school community to provide this potentially life changing experience to the students, enabling them to select a career path that could lead them back to their community, and future TerraCom / LMS employment opportunities. The group were lucky enough to visit some of the country’s most prestigious campus’ including UQ, QUT, as well as a bonus visit to the Queensland Children’s Hospital.

TerraCom is an active member of the Community it operates in. We are a proud supporter of innovative community groups who make a positive contribution to the local area. We encourage local and regional organisations and registered charities to apply for a share of funding under TerraCom’s Community Grant Program.

Clermont Community Housing and Other Services inc (CCHAOSinc) are a support group who provide government assistance to Clermont community. They are a not-for-profit group who rely on the generosity of local business’ and grants to employ their staff to facilitate the services. In addition to the facilitating support services, they also manage and provide and manage affordable housing for the Clermont community.
After an electrical fault, the CCHAOSinc group lost all networking and data communications including their network server within the office.

We provided critical funds to help them acquire a replacement server, as well as donating some IT hardware equipment from our mine site to assist in the new set up. Our assistance enabled the group to restore network connectivity with minimal downtime to their operation and support services.
